Small by Design - Steady Roots serves only five residents. We chose a small-home model intentionally because individualized care requires time, familiarity, and relationships. We want to notice when someone is quieter than usual, when an appetite changes, when a favorite routine matters, or when a family simply needs reassurance.
RN-Led Care - Steady Roots is owned and led by a BSN-prepared Registered Nurse who is actively involved in the home. Clinical knowledge does not replace caregiving — it strengthens our ability to notice changes, communicate effectively, coordinate care, and advocate for residents.
Accessible Communication - Our owners answer the Steady Roots phone and greet callers graciously. If we are assisting another family and a voicemail is left, our goal is to return the call within one hour whenever reasonably possible. Families should never feel as though they are navigating care alone. Pertinent resident information is communicated promptly to the RN, and families are kept informed of meaningful changes.
24/7 Awake Staff - Our residents deserve attentive care around the clock. Steady Roots provides awake staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Transparent Monthly Pricing - We believe families deserve clarity. Following an assessment, Steady Roots provides one transparent monthly rate based on the resident’s care needs rather than a confusing list of routine add-on charges.
Routine supplies such as briefs, skin-care creams and lotions, shampoo, conditioner, and soap are included in the monthly rate. Services provided by outside healthcare professionals, such as mobile physicians, are billed separately by those providers.

Choosing care for someone you love can feel overwhelming. At Steady Roots, our goal is to make the process clearer, more personal, and less stressful from the very first conversation. We are a small assisted living and memory care home serving only five residents. That intentionally small setting allows us to know our residents as individuals, their routines, preferences, personalities, histories, abilities, and the things that bring them joy.
Our owners answer the phone. Our RN owner is actively involved in the home and in resident care. Families receive responsive communication, and when a change in condition occurs, we believe they deserve to know promptly. This is more than a place to receive care. It is a home where people are known, respected, advocated for, and encouraged to maintain independence whenever safely possible.
We see the person, not the diagnosis.

Coordination with mobile physicians when families prefer; physician services are billed separately through the provider/insurance.
Our goal is simple: residents should feel at home, and families should feel confident that someone is paying attention.

Steady Roots Was Created from genuine experience — professional experience, family experience, and years of understanding what it means to advocate for someone you love.
As a Registered Nurse, Brenda has cared for individuals and families during vulnerable and uncertain moments. But the heart behind Steady Roots reaches far beyond a nursing career. Our family understands caregiving because we have lived it. We have raised and advocated for family members with special needs, welcomed a loved one living with dementia into our home for more than two years, and cared for loved ones through the final chapters of life.
Those experiences taught us that families need more than a list of services. They need someone who will listen. Someone who will explain. Someone who will answer the phone. Someone who
will notice the little things. Someone who will see the person they love — not simply a diagnosis. THIS is why Steady Roots exists. We wanted to create the kind of home and the kind of support we would want for our own family.
Every resident comes to Steady Roots with different abilities, needs, and preferences. We begin with an individualized assessment to determine the appropriate level of support and develop a care plan centered around the whole person - not simply a diagnosis.
Supervisory Care is designed for individuals who are largely independent but benefit from oversight, reminders, encouragement, and assistance maintaining a safe daily routine.
Support may include medication reminders or management, cueing for personal care and daily activities, meal preparation, housekeeping, safety monitoring, social engagement, and coordination of care.
The goal is to support independence while providing the reassurance that help is available when needed.
Personal Care is appropriate for individuals who need hands-on assistance with one or more activities of daily living.
Support may include assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and incontinence care, mobility, transfers, medication management, meals, and other personal needs.
Our caregivers provide assistance respectfully and discreetly while encouraging residents to remain as independent as safely possible.
Directed Care provides a higher level of support for individuals who may be unable to recognize danger, make safe decisions, communicate their needs consistently, or independently direct their own care.
This level of care may be appropriate for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, cognitive impairment, or other conditions requiring increased supervision and assistance.
Care may include comprehensive assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, mobility and transfer assistance, incontinence care, enhanced safety monitoring, behavioral and emotional support, structured routines, and individualized dementia care.
At Steady Roots, we believe a diagnosis should never define the person. We take the time to learn each resident's history, preferences, routines, abilities, and passions so we can provide care that preserves dignity, comfort, connection, and quality of life.

We offer a wide range of services to meet the unique needs of each of our residents. From medication management to specialized memory care programs, we have everything needed to provide exceptional care.
Memory Care
A diagnosis does not define a person. Our memory care approach begins with learning the resident’s story, routines, preferences, abilities, interests, and sources of comfort. Our team is dementia trained, and we focus on dignity, patience, familiarity, meaningful engagement, and meeting residents where they are. We believe connection remains possible even when memory changes.
Hospice Support
When a resident and family choose hospice, our goal is to support comfort, dignity, communication, and continuity while working collaboratively with the hospice team. We understand how meaningful this season can be for families because end-of-life caregiving is part of our own family experience.
Mobile Physician Coordination
If a family prefers the convenience of a mobile physician, Steady Roots can help coordinate those services. Mobile physician services are provided by independent healthcare providers and are billed separately by the provider or through the resident’s insurance; they are not included in the Steady Roots monthly rate.

Care Built Around the Individual. No two residents are the same, and their care should not be either. We begin by learning who
each person is, what they can do independently, where they need assistance, what matters to them, and how we can best support their overall quality of life. We encourage independence whenever safely possible while providing the level of assistance each resident needs. Care plans are individualized and adjusted as needs change.

Our Core Values

Our team is made up of highly skilled and dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional care. We work together to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of our residents.
Brenda brings her nursing background, personal caregiving experience, and commitment to family advocacy into the daily life of Steady Roots. Her vision is to create a home where clinical awareness and genuine caregiving work together — where families have direct access, residents are known as individuals, and communication is never treated as an afterthought. Her belief is simple: nursing is a calling, true caregiving is a gift.

Brenda and John have been married for over 30 years. Both born and raised in the Pacific Northwest where they raised their children, prior to moving to Arizona. Alongside her husband, they continue to parent two adult sons with special needs, which has given Brenda daily insight into the importance of patience, dignity, and compassionate care. Their home has also been a place of support and refuge for aging loved ones including family members with dementia who lived with them for over two years. Through these and other experiences, as well as her work in assisted living and end of life care, Brenda has developed an understanding of what true quality care looks like. Not just in theory, but in real-life circumstances, in homes, hospitals with numerous families, and in the final season of life.

Our current cost of care is based on numerous factors and begins at $6,500 per month, with higher for full-assistance needs and generally range between $6,500–$8,500 per month.
Final pricing is determined only after assessment and may change as the resident’s needs change. *Rates are subject to change, confirm these figures with a personalized assessment.
